In 2024, the Taiwan Expo in India opened grandly in New Delhi, the capital of India, with 120 Taiwanese companies participating to showcase their industrial strengths and explore the Indian market. The three-day exhibition was held at the Pragati Maidan International Exhibition Center. The opening ceremony attracted many distinguished guests from India, including Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhawma, Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar, representatives from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), and the Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA). Taiwan’s representative in India, Baushuan Ger, along with several Taiwanese business leaders, also attended to show their support.
The exhibition opened with a joint performance by Taiwanese and Indian dance troupes, combining popular elements such as the “E16 Squat,” the Indian hit song “Naatu Naatu,” and the Taiwanese dance “Blessings,” showcasing a creative blend of cultures and symbolizing soaring friendship. Chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), James Huang, stated that since 2018, India has been rising in the global manufacturing sector, while Taiwan holds a crucial position in the international semiconductor supply chain. What’s more, this year’s exhibition is larger in scale than last year, with business opportunities expected to exceed 75 million USD (approximately 2.4 billion NTD). By partnering, Taiwan and India can lead the global tech manufacturing industry. This year’s expo featured the “Smart Manufacturing Pavilion” and the “Sustainable Innovation Textile Zone,” highlighting Taiwan’s efficient smart solutions in petrochemicals, footwear, and textile processes, aiming to seize the vast market opportunities in India.

FICCI is Industry Partner for Taiwan Expo 2024 being organized by The International Trade Administration, MOEA, Taiwan and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) from 8-10 July, 2024 (10:00 AM to 06:00 PM) at Hall 2, Pragati Maidan (Entry Gate 4), New Delhi.
The expo will be attended by government officials and industry associations, including the New Taipei City Government (New Taipei City Enterprise Pavilion), Taiwan Tourism Administration, Taiwan Textile Federation (Sustainable & Innovation Textile Pavilion), and Taipei Computer Association (TCA Innovation Pavilion).

New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Chi-Chih Chu led 20 businesses to set up the “New Taipei City Enterprise Pavilion,” showcasing strengths in smart cities, manufacturing, healthcare, and esports to address India’s industrial needs and green transformation. The Taiwan Tourism Bureau promoted Taiwan tourism, and the Taipei Computer Association presented high-tech solutions and AIoT products. TAITRA also hosted a seminar with the Japan External Trade Organization to explore Taiwan-Japan collaboration in India. James Huang expects this year’s expo to generate greater business opportunities and economic benefits than last year.
